Louise’s life has always included writing, first plays and more recently short stories. Working in the Press Office at the National Theatre for five years, she was inspired to train as a journalist. She’s spent time teaching children to read as part of Volunteer Reading Help and worked with vulnerable adults, leading a Read Aloud group at Brighton Housing Trust. A belief in the importance of care following bereavement led her to her work as a funeral arranger. Louise’s school friend lost both her parents when she was just 12 and turned to Louise for support. It was a shock to realise she didn’t know what to say. On the death of her father in 2014, Louise felt she had to do something to help change attitudes towards death and grief which gave rise to the development of Project Eileen.
