HAIR RAISING 2023

We want to give a big shout out to the barbers and hairdressers nationwide who don’t just look after their clients’ hair, but who very often end up having to listen to their clients’ troubles which include grief.
We’re calling for UK barbers and hairdressers to take part in this year’s Hair Raising 2023 awareness and fundraising campaign on:
SATURDAY 14th - 28th OCTOBER 2023
HOW TO TAKE PART
To take part you need to request a campaign pack.
There are 3 ways to do this:
-
Email us at hairraising23@projecteileen.co.uk
-
Complete the Form below:
Watch our Patron, celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton
and our CEO, Louise Poffley discuss Hair Raising 2023 on Latest TV.
-
What does it involve? It’s easy to take part and you don’t need to do much: Put up a small Hair Raising poster in the window; Display leaflets; Display the donation QR code that’s provided; Tell customers that you’re taking part in Hair Raising 2023 to help support the charity Project Eileen; Tell customers that Project Eileen provides free lessons to schools to help teenagers cope with bereavement, death and grief; Ask customers who can afford to whether they’d like to donate using the QR code; Post about the campaign on your social media.
-
What else could I do to help? You could get creative and hold your own fundraiser during the two weeks (14-28 October) such as a raffle, guess the number of hairpins/combs/sweets etc. in the jar, or a photo caption competition. You could follow Project Eileen on social media and encourage your customers to follow us too. You could suggest to your customers to go on our website and nominate a school that might benefit from teaching the Project Eileen Programme of lessons to their students. You could nominate a school too.
-
How will it benefit me and/or my staff? For the first time, Project Eileen is providing every hairdresser and barber that takes part with an exclusive Guidance Sheet giving practical advice on how to talk to clients who are experiencing bereavement and grief, as well as a link to an exclusive short video guide, fronted by celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton, on how to talk to bereaved customers. Salons and barbershops that take part will be promoted on all Project Eileen’s social media with their logos and photos and potentially on local radio stations, local TV and in local newspapers and online media.
-
I’m an independent/freelance hairdresser/barber, can I still take part?Yes, you can definitely take part. We will send you the campaign pack and you can put up the poster inside if you don’t have a shop window.
-
When will I receive my campaign pack?We will send out campaign packs towards the end of September to UK barbershops, hair salons and independent freelance hairdressers and barbers. Everyone should receive one before the start of the campaign on 14 October. Anyone who gets in touch with us after the campaign has started will still receive a pack.
